Chula Vista Nature Center
A little-known gem just 7 miles from downtown San Diego is the Chula Vista Nature Center. Living nature exhibits are featured, and visitors are encouraged to wander about viewing these local plants and animals in their natural environment. Be sure not to miss the eagle exhibits where these majestic birds are displayed just inches away from you!
Other treasures to see here are sea turtles, marsh species, birds, fish, reptiles, and even sharks! Bring a snack and spend an educational day at the Chula Vista Nature Center with your family. After checking out their exhibits, explore the 1.5 miles of nature trails leading toward the ocean where you’ll find an old gunpowder factory and more wild animals. The center is open daily and offers nature discovery tours three days a week. Admission is $11 for adults, $8 Seniors, $8 Juniors (12-17), and $6 Children (4-11) with discounts for college students and military. www.chulavistanaturecenter.org. (619) 409-5900.
